Initiatives rewarded in the I Best Local Practices in Management of Religious Diversity Contest


The Observatory rewards the municipalities of Fuenlabrada, Sabadell, Castellón and Alcorcón for their good practices in the management of religious diversity. We hope that this recognition will impel these municipalities to continue with renewed enthusiasm the important work developed so far.

The call for best practices for the II Edition of the Contest will open in the coming days.

Call for the "Pluralism and Conviviality Research Award" 2017

The Pluralism and Conviviality Research Award aims to highlight and disseminate the best research on religious diversity in Spain today in two modalities: monographs and articles. The deadline for submitting proposals, individual and collective, ends on April 26, 2017.

Renewal and enlargement of the Observatory's Scientific Committee

The Commission of the Observatory, at its meeting of March 2, 2017, approved the appointment of six new members of the Scientific Committee: Mr. Ricardo García García, Mrs. Rosa María Martínez de Codes, Mr. Jaime Contreras Contreras, Mr. Agustín Domingo Moratalla, Mrs. María Magdalena Martínez Almira and Mr. rafael benítez Sánchez-Blanco.

Research

During the first quarter of 2017, the Pluralism and Conviviality Foundation, within the framework of its municipal research program, has carried out studies in the cities of Albacete, Logroño and Santander. The purpose of these researches is to provide support to local governments in improving public management of religious diversity.

Training courses

Throughout the month of March, the Foundation has delivered three sessions, of 5 hours each, of the course "Multiculturality and religious diversity" within the framework of the Voluntary Training Plan of the City of Burgos. this training took place on the 6, the 15 and the 25 of March.
